Pulse Index Modulation

Emerging systems such as Internet-of-things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications have strict requirements on the power consumption of used equipments associated complexity in transceiver design. To meet these requirements, we propose a novel index modulation (IM) scheme, namely pulse (PIM) for single-input single-output (SISO) schemes. The proposed model uses well-localized orthogonal Hermite-Gaussian pulses data transmission provides high spectral efficiency owing to indices. Considering maximum-likelihood (ML) detector, matched filtering-based low detector implement PIM scheme practice. Besides, it has been shown via analytical derivations computer simulations that system better error performance considerable signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain compared existing spatial (SM), code aided spread-spectrum (CIM-SS), CIM-SM, traditional $M$ -ary systems.
